Yesterday I downloaded Origin and bought Sims 3 for my Windows 8 HP. However when I try to download Sims 3, it usually gets to about 58% then it either won't continue downloading or will go at an extremely slow rate. I had it downloading for 7 hours and only get about 10. Using Origin to install games on Mac Download and install the Origin client for Mac and make sure it is up-to-date. If you already have Origin on your Mac but are having problems with downloading or installing games, delete the client and download a new copy (this sometimes fixes issues with downloading). Last night I purchased the Sims 3 Starter Pack that comes with the base game, the late night expansion pack, and the high-end loft stuff. I purchased, downloaded, and installed everything on my macbook pro but when I went to launch the game this morning a message appeared saying 'You can't open the application Sims 3 because it may be damaged or incomplete.'

But EA has announced a 64-bit-compatible version of TS3 for macOS, to be released some time this year. Gameplay

In The Sims 3, players control their own Sims' activities and relationships. The gameplay is open-ended and does not have a defined goal. Challenges occur randomly based on each Sim's lifestyle, like relationships, skills, and jobs. Career opportunities like working overtime or completing tasks can yield a pay raise, cash bonus, or relationship boost. Skill opportunities are the requests by your sim's neighbors or community members for Sims to solve problems using their acquired skills for cash or relationship rewards. If the opportunity is connected to a Sim's school, the reward may be increased school performance.

The new reward system Wishes replaces the Wants and Fears system in its predecessor The Sims 2. Fulfilling a Sim's wish contributes to the Sim's Lifetime Happiness score, allowing players to purchase lifetime rewards for the cost of those Lifetime Happiness points.
